Photographs from the July 22, 2000 ADA Parade and Celebration

The 10^th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act was celebrated with a parade and activities on Saturday, July 22, in College Green Park in Iowa City. The parade began at the Civic Center and proceeded to the celebration at College Green Park from 11 AM to 4 PM. Bob Kafka, a national organizer for ADAPT (Americans Disabled for Attendant Programs Today) and Co-Director of the Institute for Disability Access, was the keynote speaker.

Iowa City ADA Celebrations

  The 12th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act was celebrated on Saturday, July 27, at Hickory Hill Park in Iowa City, Iowa. The celebration featured tours of park trails recently made more accessible for people who use wheelchairs or have difficulty walking.

  The 11^th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act was celebrated with a rally, art show, and a training session on grassroots organizing on Saturday, July 28, at the Iowa City Public Library and the Pedestrian Mall.
