Small grants are being offered to individuals and families who want to attend
conferences, classes, or training sessions in the school year 2000-2001.
You are eligible to apply if :
- you are a person with a disability or a family member who wants to attend a
disability-related conference
- you live in the Grant Wood area (the counties of Benton, Cedar, Iowa, Johnson, Jones,
Linn, and Washington).
Grants will range from $100 to $250 per person, to pay for registration fees, hotel,
and/or travel expenses. Conferences must occur no later than June 30, 2001.
Family Mini-Scholarships are co-sponsored by Grant
Wood Area Education Agency and University

The Iowa Department of Human Services has allocated $24,000 to the Training Consortium
to help an individual move from an institution to the community.
A Request for Proposals will be sent out in early October. Proposals will be judged on
creativity, innovation, and a commitment to the principles of choice, community, and
